10 things to do on Valentine’s Day in lockdown

10 things to do on Valentines Day - Caro Lettings 10 things to do on Valentine’s Day in lockdown

When it comes to celebrating the 14th of February, it’s important to make the day extra-special for your loved one. Normally, we cram in as many romantic activities as possible – from candlelit dinners in fancy restaurants to couples’ massages and spa weekends. But these are far from ‘normal’ circumstances that we find ourselves in, and the vast majority of us will be spending the day (and night) at home.

That might sound pretty boring, especially if you’re a student, but it doesn’t have to be. Here we list just a few things to do with your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend, at your student accommodation in Liverpool, to make Valentine’s Day 2021 one to remember…

  1. Enjoy breakfast in bed

Know how to whip up a delicious breakfast? Whether it be avocado on (heart-shaped) toast, a full-English or pastries and fresh fruit, take it to your room and enjoy lounging in bed with your other half. Oh and don’t forget the champagne glasses! It’ll be a nice change from the usual morning hustle and bustle in the shared kitchen at your student accommodation.

  1. Take a romantic stroll

Since lockdown, we’ve all been spending a lot of time indoors which, if you’re a Caro student, shouldn’t be too much of an issue as we provide some of the best student accommodation Liverpool has to offer. But this Valentine’s Day, be sure to step out into the fresh air (weather permitting, of course) and unwind together. Even if it’s just a short walk around the park.

  1. Cook together

Food is the way to a man’s heart, at least that’s what they say. Instead of ordering a takeaway and keeping a watchful eye out for the driver to pull up, why not spend quality time with your partner and prepare a romantic dinner together? It helps if one of you is a master in the kitchen – but if that’s not the case, there are loads of easy recipes to follow online. Plus, the perks of student living is that one of your housemates may have chef-worthy skills and be able to lend their expertise.

  1. Netflix and chill

Let’s face it, who doesn’t love cuddling up and watching a movie? There are loads of romantic comedies to choose from on Netflix at the moment – guaranteed to pull at your heartstrings and poke your funny bone. There really is no better way to get in the mood for some Valentine’s romance. Just make sure you have plenty of drinks and snacks at hand.

  1. Recreate your first (or all-time favourite) date

Going to posh restaurants in the city might be off the cards this year, but that’s not to say you can’t take a trip down memory lane and recreate your favourite date at your student accommodation in Liverpool. Whether it was dining alfresco, eating Italian food or drinking delicious cocktails, all it takes is a little creativity.

  1. Get dressed up

The chances are you’ve spent the majority of lockdown living in cosy loungewear or stretchy sweatpants, right? Whilst you might not be leaving your student accommodation in Liverpool for Valentine’s Day, you could still make a little effort. For example, guys can slip on a pair of jeans and a shirt – rather than joggers and a hoody. Girls can dig out that little black dress that’s been sat in the wardrobe waiting to be worn and apply some lip gloss.

  1. Run a bubble bath

This one couldn’t be easier. All of our rooms come with an en-suite bathroom and have a shower, washbasin and toilet as standard. If you have the luxury of a bath, turn on the hot tap and add in your favourite bubble bath or bath bomb. To make it even more romantic, surround the tub with candles, sprinkle rose petals in the water and have a glass of bubbly within arm’s length. Then sit back, relax, and forget your troubles.

  1. Create an at-home spa experience

Whether it be your Valentine’s gift to your significant other or something for the both of you, you can’t beat a little pampering. You might not be able to book a luxury spa retreat at a hotel, but you can quite easily dot candles around the room to set the scene, give each other a massage, or chill with cucumbers on your eyes with a glass of fizz in hand.

  1. Indulge in fine wine and chocolate

Nothing says romance like a bottle of red, white or rosé, a box of chocolate truffles and, if you’re really lucky, flowers too. The truth is, Valentine’s 2021 is a far cry from what we’re used to. So, ladies, why not pop open your favourite bottle of wine? And gentlemen, grab yourself a couple of beers from the fridge before tucking into those fancy chocs.

  1. Have a games night

Do you and/or your partner have a competitive streak? Maybe you’re just looking to cure the boredom of staying home and fancy playing a few games? The good news is, our student accommodation in Liverpool comes with excellent communal areas – perfect for playing board games as a two or with other tenants. With enough refreshments, you’re sure to have oodles of fun on Valentine’s Day.

No matter how you choose to celebrate February 14th, you can be sure that you’ll have all the basic amenities you need – and more – here at Caro Students.
