How To Make Your Student Accommodation Cosy This Autumn

How to make your student accommodation cosy this autumn How To Make Your Student Accommodation Cosy This Autumn

With the nights drawing in thick and fast, and the leaves beginning to turn brown, autumn has officially arrived – and winter won’t be far behind!

You’ve probably already ordered your first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the year and dug out your woolly socks and duvet coat. But the question is – what can you do to give your student accommodation a cosy vibe this autumn?

Allow the team here at CARO Lettings to share some of our fave ideas.

4 easy ways to give your accommodation a cosier feel

1.    Spice things up a touch

Spices such as ginger, pumpkin spice, cinnamon and nutmeg are always popular at this time of year – guaranteed to make you feel warm and toasty on the inside as you cosy up from the chilly temperatures outside.

A great way to give your student accommodation in Liverpool an autumnal scent is to batch cook tasty treats in your shared kitchen – things like pumpkin soup, banana bread, sticky toffee pudding, apple pie, rhubarb crumble and carrot cake.

If you’re not the best baker – don’t panic! You can pick up potpourri and air fresheners from the supermarket.

2.    Layer up with blankets

Whether it be draped over the back of the sofa or on your bed, keeping a fluffy blanket handy is always a good idea as the seasons change.

Aside from adding an extra layer of warmth to snuggle up as you’re sat working (or binge-watching your favourite TV shows), a knitted or faux fur throw will also add colour and texture to your student digs.

For an ultra-rustic vibe, opt for warm brown and orange tones, as opposed to vibrant shades and geometric prints.

3.    Don’t shy away from seasonal decorations

Got your pals coming over to watch a movie? Throwing a Halloween party at the end of October?

There are plenty of things you can do to dress up your student accommodation in Liverpool to ensure you’re prepared for the celebrations.

For example, you could string fairy lights or a wreath with faux leaves and berries across the fireplace, position some dried flowers in the centre of the kitchen table, or buy some cheap Halloween decorations from Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M or even your local supermarket.

Even better, why not add a few pumpkins in each room? You could opt for traditional orange pumpkins or switch things up a notch with dark green or white ones. It’s entirely up to you.

4.    Dust off the board games

With temperatures falling rapidly, the thought of a cosy night in at student accommodation is much more appealing than a night out…wouldn’t you agree?

Instead of venturing out into the cold and having to flag down a cab at the end of the night, you can stay warm and snug at home. And the best bit is, you don’t have to change out of your dressing gown and slippers!

Whilst you could organise a movie marathon with your housemates, there’s no better time to dig out the board games from under your bed. Grab some drinks and snacks (or order a takeaway), and a fun-filled evening is absolutely on the cards.
