Can I have a shorter contract?
Shorter contracts may be agreed, subject to availability and additional rent charges may apply. Please contact us if you need any more information on this.
You can pay your full year in advance or we can break it down into 3 termly instalments with an initial payment. You must advise us when you secure your room which option you would like so we can set it out in your payment plan in your Tenancy Agreement.
Yes, if you wish to pay in instalments you must have a guarantor. The guarantor must be a UK resident & in full time employment. They are named on and will countersign your Tenancy Agreement and are legally responsible to ensure you comply with the terms of your contract including paying any rent or costs.
Your Guarantor will be required to pass a formal credit check with our referencing company before they can be accepted. They will be asked to provide detailed information to prove affordability, including details for their own income and you should let them know this in advance to avoid any embarrassment.
If you do not have a guarantor, eg, if you are an international student, you can still live at a CARO student scheme but full payment in advance is required.
The booking fee is £100.00 You will need to pay this to secure your bedspace at CARO Students.
This transfers to be your deposit once you move in – so providing there is no damage or outstanding rent arrears, you should get this back in full!
Your deposit will be protected by The Deposit Protection Service (custodial scheme) until the end of the tenancy.
If you need more information on the service go to www.depositprotection.com.
Your rent includes heating, electric & water costs.
Broadband internet connection is also included, subject to a fair usage policy.
All residents are required to be full time students and on this basis qualify for Council Tax exemption. You will need to contact the Council to obtain your own exemption certificate and a copy must be given to our team!
You are responsible for purchasing a TV Licence for the TV in your room. CARO will obtain necessary licenses for communal TV’s.
We recommend you take out adequate cover for all of your personal belongings. Specialist student contents products are available.
