Renting in Liverpool with CARO Lettings
CARO has been letting and managing property in Liverpool since 2013, and the city is still where most of our portfolio sits. We manage everything from purpose built apartment blocks on the edge of the city centre to independent houses in the suburbs, so whether you want a studio five minutes from Lime Street or a family home with a bit of garden, there is usually something on the books.
What you get either way is a managed let. Your deposit is protected, your repairs go to a team rather than a landlord’s voicemail, and there is someone to call when the boiler picks a Sunday to give up. We are members of The Property Ombudsman and UKALA, with Client Money Protection in place, so the money side is covered too.

Poet's Place
Poet’s Place sits on the northern edge of the city centre, backing onto 99 acres of Everton Park with views across to the Pier Head and the waterfront towers. You are a ten minute walk from St George’s Hall and the Walker Art Gallery, there is a Sainsbury’s superstore up the road, and the bus stop on Virgil Street is about three minutes on foot.
There are 127 homes in the block: 43 studios, 76 one bedroom apartments and 8 two bedroom apartments. All are finished to the same spec, with brand new white goods, modern bathroom suites and full length glass windows that make even the studios feel bright.
Areas We cover
Where we let in Liverpool
We let across the city and the wider Merseyside area, with most of our residential stock concentrated in and around the centre:
- City centre and Ropewalks for the short walk to work and the pick of the bars
- Everton and Vauxhall for newer blocks like Poet’s Place, with parkland on the doorstep
- Kensington and Fairfield for value and quick access to the universities and the Royal
- Anfield and Walton for houses with more space for the money
- Aigburth, Allerton and Mossley Hill for the leafier end of the city
Wavertree and Old Swan for families who want schools and a supermarket within walking distance
Not sure which bit of the city suits you? Ring the office on 0151 318 4743 and tell us what matters most. We will point you at the right postcodes, even if the right property happens to be someone else’s.
Letting FAQS
Residential lettings in Liverpool
These are the questions we are asked most often. If you have a question that is not covered below, feel free to contact us.
It depends on where you are looking and what you need. Studios and one bed apartments in and around the city centre currently start from around £700 pcm with us, with two bed apartments and houses higher again. Liverpool still compares well with Manchester and the south, which is a large part of why the city keeps drawing people in. For live prices on everything we have available, check our Rightmove listings.
Photo ID, proof of address, and proof that you can cover the rent, usually through payslips or an employment contract. We reference every tenant, and if your income does not quite meet the threshold on its own, a UK based guarantor normally solves it. Students are welcome too, though most student lets sit under CARO Student Living rather than this page.
Five weeks' rent, which is the legal cap for most assured shorthold tenancies where the annual rent is under £50,000. It is registered with the Deposit Protection Service and returned at the end of the tenancy, less anything agreed for damage beyond fair wear and tear.
It varies by property. Poet's Place apartments come fully fitted with white goods and appliances, and furnished options are available; our houses and individual flats are a mix. Each Rightmove listing states which, and you are welcome to ask us before you book a viewing.
Often, yes, but it is decided property by property with the landlord's agreement, and it may affect the rent or the terms. Tell us about the pet early rather than at signing, and we will tell you straight away which of our properties are open to it.
