Top 4 Bonfire Night events in Liverpool 2023 blog Top 4 Bonfire Night events in Liverpool 2023

If you find yourself living in student accommodation in Liverpool for the first time, you may be eager to know where the most entertaining Bonfire Night events are in Merseyside.

We’ve produced a guide that hopes to help Liverpool’s student population find a fun and colourful event to go to in celebration of Bonfire Night this year.

1.      Liverpool College PTA Fireworks Bonanza

If an evening of hot chocolate, exquisite food stalls, and fireworks sounds right up your street, it’s time for you and your flatmates to book your tickets to Liverpool College’s PTA Fireworks Bonanza on Friday the 10th of November.

Let your inner child run free and attempt to hook a duck or try your luck in the raffle – whatever you do, just remember to bring your wellies for the fireworks spectacular afterwards!

Just be aware that you need to purchase your tickets before the event – tickets won’t be sold at the door.

2.      River of Light

Although not specifically a Bonfire Night event, we just had to give Liverpool’s famous River of Light festival a mention! This yearly exhibition is an outdoor illuminated gallery on Liverpool’s historic waterfront – ultimately, it’s lights in the dark without the spark.

Perfect for culture vultures, there are 12 stunning pieces of lit-up artwork on show by various artists from all over the globe – as it’s a self-guided tour, you can take as much time as you please to venture around the 2km trail.

So, if you’re eager to see this beautiful display, head down to the waterfront from Friday the 27th of October to November the 5th between 5pm and 9pm. Entry is free, so it’s a no-brainer really!

3.      Day of the Dead Family Fireworks Festival at Southport Pleasureland

The ultimate firework spectacular returns in 2023, with Southport Pleasureland hosting its extravagant Day of the Dead Family Fireworks Festival.

This Mexican-themed bonanza consists of a stunning assortment of entertainment, including fire eaters, Mexican dances, live music, drummers, and much more. Plus, you and your uni pals will have access to the funfair throughout the evening!

To finish the night, a vibrant fireworks display will commence, lighting up the sky in celebration of Bonfire Night.

But be sure to get your tickets quickly – this event will sell out due to its enormous popularity! Choose between either Friday the 3rd, Saturday the 4th, or Sunday the 5th of November.

4.      From the Ground Comes Light at the Totally Wicked Stadium

Back by popular demand, why not take a short train ride to nearby St Helens for the ‘From the Ground Comes Light’ bonfire event?

Whilst it doesn’t offer a fireworks display, this sparktastic event provides plenty of live entertainment from local artists, including dancers and DJs, as well as a mesmerising laser light and pyrotechnics display.

Two shows are due to take place, one on the 4th and the other on the 5th of November, so you’re sure to find a date that suits you! To book, visit the Saints online ticketing system to receive your e-tickets.
