Best places to watch Euro 2021 in Liverpool
With a selection of football bars and pubs and beer gardens with outdoor screens, just a stone’s throw away from our student accommodation in Liverpool, you don’t have to venture too far.
Here are some of our top picks.
- Camp and Furnace
Not just renowned for throwing some of the biggest parties in the Baltic Triangle, Camp and Furnace is perfect for every kind of event – be it conferences, festivals or film screenings.
But this summer, prepare to see the venue transform into the Euros Fanpark. There will be big screens and plenty of tasty food, drink and music to enjoy whilst celebrating or commiserating. However, tables of 4,5 and 6 will need booking in advance.
2. Punch Tarmey’s
Boasting 18 large TV screens inside and out and an 8ft video wall, Punch Tarmey’s is Liverpool’s biggest (and best) Irish bar.
Ask any armchair supporter and they’ll tell you that it is the place to go to watch live sport – cheering your team on whilst sipping their finest selection of craft beer. And at weekends, you can enjoy live music and tunes from the resident DJ once the match has finished.
3. The Hope & Anchor
Nestled in the beating heart of the city – less than a 10-minute drive from our student accommodation in Liverpool – The Hope & Anchor modern bar has a pool table and regularly shows all the big games from Sky Sports and BT Sports. So you can bet they will have the Euros on their HD screens!
They even have a garden and outdoor dining area which is perfect for tucking into some delicious pub grub and alcoholic beverages pre or post-match.
4. Soho
With neon lights, VIP booths, glittering disco balls, and quirky artwork, Concert Square is home to Modo, Einstein, Soho and McCooleys – all popular nightspots with students in Liverpool and beyond – and only a short 5-minute walk from our student lets on Parker Street.
But aside from being a well-known name in the city for its late-night antics and parties, Concert Square (particularly Soho) is a brilliant venue for watching live sport. In fact, their outdoor beer garden and terrace is set for the summer months – so why not head on down there and get behind England, or whoever it is you’re backing, and make the most of the glorious weather?
Got somewhere in mind?
Remember that most places are table service only and you still need to bring a mask. Our best advice is to call ahead to avoid disappointment and make sure you leave in plenty of time to ensure you get the best seat in the house.
If you’ll be watching the Euros down the local boozer with your mates, why not treat yourself to a refreshing pint or two? And if you’re tuning in at your student accommodation in Liverpool, make sure the fridge is well stocked with beers and the cupboards with snacks!
