Autumn is always special in Liverpool. With everyone returning for uni, it feels like the energy has returned to the city after a long summer holiday. The nights are getting darker, the leaves are changing and there’s a definite chill in the air. Before you know it, Christmas will be here and it’ll be time for a well earned few weeks off before the stress of exams in the new year. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! There’s plenty to look forward to in Liverpool during the first semester back at uni. We’ve done a round up of some of the best events happening in Liverpool, including some exclusive ones just for you students.

Liverpool Comedy Festival
Have a laugh at the Liverpool Comedy Festival running from 14th – 30th September. Liverpool is well known for it’s homegrown comedy talent and the festival will feature both up and coming and well-established comedic acts. For a full schedule of events, visit the website.
Oktoberfest
Don’t quiet have the funds to travel to Bavaria for Oktoberfest? Not to worry, there will be various events taking place across Liverpool. Head down to the Baltic Market from Thursday 27th September till Sunday 30th September where steins and bratwurst will be in abundance. The Thursday night session is free but there is a £5 charge on the door on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. From 22nd September to 7th October, there will be steins, Oompah bands and plenty of local foods to be enjoyed down at Einstein’s Concert Square.

Liverpool’s Dream – The Giants Spectacular
The Giants are Back for the third and final instalment of their epic adventure. They first came to the city in 2008 as part of the Capital of Culture celebrations and again returned in 2012. Whilst the exact details are being kept under lock and key, from the 4th October to the 7th, you can watch the Giants take over Liverpool city centre. Baltic Vegan Market
Whether you’re a die-hard vegan, or just want to see what all the fuss is about, get yourself down to the Baltic Market on Sunday 14th October.
Baltic Market Halloween Spooktacular
Can you tell we’re a little obsessed with the Baltic Market? Whilst it may be a little bit of a trek, it is 100% worth it and their Halloween party is not to be missed. Held over 4 days from the 25th to 28th October, there will be a spooky 90s disco, trick or treating and plenty of terrifying foods to enjoy! Find out more here.

Bonfire night is always spectacular in Liverpool and not to be missed. There are multiple events across the city but the biggest ones will be down at the waterfront and in Sefton Park. Grab your mates, a few sparklers and enjoy!

Derby day Liverpool vs Everton at Anfield
On Derby Day, the city comes alive and the first match of the 2018/19 season is taking place at Anfield. Can’t get tickets to the match? Get yourself to town, soak up the electric atmosphere and enjoy a pint or two. The first match is on 1st December 2018
Bongo’s Bingo – various dates
A game of bingo like no other! Bongo’s Bingo has taken the country by storm. It’s a night filled with live acts, drinks, DJs and of course, whacky bingo prizes ranging from a Phillip Schofield cut out to a mobility scooter. Events take place throughout the year, often with special acts that have included Kelis and the Vengaboys. Tickets sell fest so we recommend signing up to their newsletter so you don’t miss out.
