An eagerly anticipated event for many LGBTQ+ students, Pride is the place to be if you want to meet new friends in the community and come together to celebrate equality.
So, here’s all you need to know about Liverpool Pride in 2024 from our student accommodation in Liverpool specialists, who know a thing or two about everything this wholesome city has to offer!
Why do Liverpudlians celebrate pride?
Taking place in Liverpool every year, Pride is a celebration of acceptance, equality, and above all else, LOVE! This amazing city is renowned for being highly accepting and inclusive, which is reflected in its yearly Pride festivities.
Pride is organised by Liverpool City Region’s LGBTQ+ charity, LCR Pride Foundation, who strive to make the city as LGBTQ+ friendly as possible.
There’s plenty of student interest in Pride, mostly those who hail from the LGBTQ+ community – however, allies are more than welcome to join in and celebrate with their friends!
When is Liverpool Pride 2024, and where is it held?
Pride in Liverpool this year will take place on Saturday 27th July – however, this year there’ll be additional pride festivities held on Friday 26th July, too!
Pride Classical – 26/06/24
New to Liverpool’s pride celebrations in 2024, Pride Classical will see a 32-piece orchestra take to the stage at Liverpool’s historical waterfront, performing the greatest Pride anthems of the last five decades.
Liverpool-born drag artist and winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 4 Danny Beard is set to host the bonanza alongside West End star Alison Jiear.

Pierhead festival
Returning after last year’s record turnout is the Pride in Liverpool festival – a free-to-attend concert held at the pierhead.
Lighting up the main stage will be headline act Katrina, formerly of Katrina and the Waves, winners of the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest for the UK.
Best known for their hit “Walking on Sunshine”, they’ll certainly put on a show to remember, which you won’t want to miss!
After the festivities of the day, university students and the rest of Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ community alike can venture down to Liverpool’s Pride Quarter to keep the party going! Bars and nightclubs such as Superstar Boudoir, OMG, and GBar will be open throughout the night, providing plenty of entertainment and excitement for you to enjoy.
